Silver Fork Marmots
At Silver Fork we believe that "Good things come in small packages!" Silver Fork school, with a roster of just 12 students for the 2010-2011 school year, Kindergarten through 8th grade, is one of the few remaining one-room schoolhouses in California. Despite our small size we have big goals for our students. We have computers for every student and use up-to-date software. Our text books are current, and our library continues to add new books of every type. In 2004 we were one of the winners of the "Governor's Reading Award Program". We are all very proud of this accomplishment. Our affiliation with the Pollock Pines School District provides greater opportunities for our students.
Without a doubt, education has changed a great deal since the "Little House on the Prairie" days. The wholesome atmosphere that a small school affords has stayed the same. We like that!
